100 Women 100 Journeys

Community Rail Lancashire are looking for 100 unique rail journey stories from 100 women around the world. We are looking for stories that will make others laugh, cry and be inspired. The stories will be collated together in a book that will be launched on International Women’s Day 2021 (8th March). After which the books will be distributed around the UK with the aim to raise awareness and funds for Women’s Aid’s ‘Rail to Refuge’ scheme.

We would like stories of journeys from those working in the industry to inspire a new generation of railway employees and also from those passengers who have had memorable experiences. Did you meet your partner on a train? Did you make a friend on a trip? Have you used the railway to escape a bad situation? Can you remember the journeys you took as a child? Or when the railways looked a little different? Is your story about a journey in a different country to the UK? The entries will:

•be between 5-10 sentences long

•come with a photograph of yourself, your journey, or an object that represents your journey

•be named or anonymous - it’s your call

If you would like further information or have any questions please get in touch via [email protected]
