The children at Woodlands Primary had a fantastic first trip day, travelling from Formby to Southport.

Merseyrail, Merseytravel and Community Rail Lancashire began by taking the children on a station tour, discussing important safety issues, especially surrounding electrification. The children also learned all about the heritage of Southport and the station.

The children then enjoyed a surprise cupcake at lunch!

After designing their own super-safe stations, crossings and trains, the children wrote about their day, and then headed back to Formby!
