Curriculum

Community Rail Lancashire has developed this curriculum section to provide an insight into the programmes of education the Community Rail sector can offer to primary schools.

Qualified teachers and experienced development officers have used the National Curriculum to generate meaningful sessions that develop an in-depth knowledge of the railway’s purpose and history, alongside promoting a love of the industry.

Each subject has a selection of relevant curriculum links (for KS2) and two or more suggested rail-linked activities to achieve the curriculum objective. These activities can be extended or cut as needed, and can be carried out within your school lessons, or in some cases, during a Community Rail Lancashire session.
